Olaide Akinwunmi Akintayo is a lecturer of Food Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin. He joined the services of the institution as an Assistant Lecturer in 2016, about two years after completing his BSc. Food Science programme (First Class). He later bagged an MSc. in Food Science (with Distinction classification) from the same institution, then proceeded to the University of Adelaide, Australia, for his Doctorate. Since his appointment, he has acquired notable teaching experience in food instrumentation, chemistry, and biochemistry. He has equally published markedly in reputable scientific Journals and Books. While his main area of specialization is food chemistry, he largely focuses on value addition to indigenous grains, as well as root and tuber crops. He has received multiple recognitions of academic excellence, including prizes, awards, grants, and scholarships, from within Nigeria and abroad. Olaide is married to Mrs Fadilat Akintayo, a union yet blessed with Zakiyyah and Umaamah.
